chris barrett

Chris Barrett was named the Head Coach for Radford University Men’s soccer team in 2020. He was a 2 year Captain and All Conference Goalkeeper for the Highlanders from 1991-1994. He was an assistant coach for the Men’s Team at Radford at three different periods; 2017-2020, 2006-2010, and 1994-1997.

He was also the Assistant Coach for the Radford Women’s Soccer team from 2010-2020. His other college coaching experience includes coaching at West VA University and UNC Wilmington.

Chris has extensive experience in youth soccer as well. After his playing days at Radford, he stayed on to help the Highlander coaching staff while getting involved in New River youth soccer. He coached and help guide the New River United Soccer club while coaching the JV and Varsity teams at Christiansburg High School.

His other youth experience includes being the Director at Greenville (SC) Futbol Club from 1999-2003, A 2000 player club that excelled at the higher levels of Regional and National youth soccer. Chris was also Youth Academy Director at Rockdale (GA) Youth SC 2003-2005, Director at Port City (NC) Soccer Club, Academy Technical Director at Cape Fear Soccer Association in Wilmington NC. He has been an ODP Staff and team coach in VA, WV, SC, and GA.
